Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice"

Winter 2008/2009

The estate of Netherfield is led at last! Pride and Prejudice Poster Thomas MichalskiMrs Bennet can hardly believe her good luck as the tenant is the wealthy bachelor Mr Bingley. He could fall in love with one of her three daughters and marry her! During a ball, Jane Bennet and Mr Bingley seem really attracted to each other. But Mr Bingley's sister Caroline and his proud best friend Mr Darcy, also a bachelor and rich, know how to prevent them from coming any closer. To Jane's sister Elizabeth it seems as if all her prejudices against the two were true. But while further problems arise in the Bennet household, Elizabeth slowly changes her opinion of Darcy - and he, too, begins to see more in her than just a stupid country girl.

"Pride and Prejudice" is one of Jane Austen's well known novels. The author stated that Elizabeht was her favourite heroine. The love story of Elizabeth and Darcy is to this very day highly popular and was the inspiration for many novels and films.
